Guardi Crushed Graphite Effect Compound 5kg

The Guardi crushed graphite coating is a modern decorative wall coating that produces unique, attractive looking crushed graphite effect finish. The anthracite metallic fillers give the surfaces cold and industrial feel fitting contemporary style spaces. The product is particularly recommended for decorating walls in modernist and industrial style, also outside buildings.
TECHNICAL PARAMETERS

• Tools – Steel trowel, Venetian trowel
• Number of coats – 1 to 2
• Coverage for one coat application – Ca. 14.45/m2(one container is sufficient for ca. 3.5 m2)
• Recoating – After two hours, if required

HOW TO USE

1. PREPARATION OF SUBSTRATE

   The substrate must be cured, sound, durable, clean, dry and free from dust, grease and any other substances that could compromise adhesion.The surface must be thoroughly primed with 1-2 coats of black GUARDI primer (KAM/021).Before priming, fresh plaster should be allowed to cure for about 4 weeks in the case of cement or cement/ lime plasters and about 2 weeks in the case of gypsum plaster.The surfaces of skim coats and dry lining must be thoroughly cleaned to remove all traces of dust and then primed with a suitable primer, such as Fixgrunt U.Make sure that all dust has been removed wiping the surface with the palm of your hand to check for the presence of any white residue.To prepare surfaces covered with well-adhered emulsion paint coatings it is enough to wash them with water with some sugar soap, then to rinse them with clean water and dry them up.Surfaces affected by mould and mildew should be cleaned mechanically and treated with Biotox Total algae and fungus remover.

2. PREPARATION OF THE PRODUCT BEFORE USE

   Add all the resin contained in the bowl under the lid to the bucket containing the graphite filler. Mix thoroughly using a hand or power mixer to distribute the graphite filler uniformly throughout the volume. Do not use high-speed agitators.

3. USE INSTRUCTIONS

   The product should be applied with a rounded steel trowel or a Venetian trowel, adjusting the coat thickness to the thickness of graphite flakes. Make sure the mix is spread evenly over the decorated surface and the substrate does not show through. Next thoroughly and carefully smoothen the surface. During application, both the ambient and substrate temperatures should be within the range of +10°C to +25°C. The primer should be allowed to cure for at least two hours (at ca. 20°C temperature of ambient air and substrate and 55±5% relative humidity). On completion immediately clean the tools with water.
