Realistic Rust Patina: Creates authentic oxidized textures and tonal variations for natural-looking aged metal finishes
Precision Formulation: Engineered to react with Component A for deep, multi-dimensional corrosion effects
Durable Finish: Suitable for high-traffic areas and both interior and exterior use
Efficient Coverage: Up to 12 m² per 0.5L, depending on surface structure and technique
Easy Application: Applied with a sponge using rubbing or stamping techniques for creative control
Water-Based System: Tools clean easily with water – no harsh solvents required
Temperature-Optimized Drying: Works best in ambient conditions from +10°C to +25°C
Application areas:
Perfect for industrial-style interior walls, accent panels, art installations, commercial venues like restaurants, bars, hotel lobbies, or exterior surfaces where an aged-metal aesthetic is desired.
Who uses it:
Ideal for interior designers, decorative painters, contractors, and investors in commercial or residential design projects seeking high-impact visual effects with long-lasting durability.
Essential system requirement: Component B must be used with Component A for complete rust effect. Latex primer should be used as a base coat.
1. Surface Preparation:
Ensure Component A has dried fully (minimum 2 hours). The surface should be clean, dry, and free from dust. Work within the recommended temperature range of +10°C to +25°C, away from direct sunlight.
2. Application:
Use a sponge to rub or stamp Component B onto the surface
Vary the pressure and motion to control the intensity and texture of the rust effect
Apply in layers to build up patina depth and achieve desired aesthetic
3. Final Finish:
Allow to dry naturally
The result is a rich, textured, and highly realistic rust effect that resembles naturally aged steel or iron
4. Clean-up:
Rinse tools immediately after use with water
Store remaining product tightly sealed in temperatures between +5°C and +35°C
Elevate your design projects with the Guardi Rust Effect Paint System – and experience the difference a true two-component patina finish makes.
For full performance and effect, always use Component B in combination with Component A. Latex primer should be used as a base coat.
⚠️ Note: The rust effect system is inseparable – using Component A without Component B will result in an incomplete and ineffective finish.
